RON DAROS. MONTAUK ORIGINAL
Fishing Montauk from a young age
Jane DaRos was gracious enough to lend me a battered memo notebook from the 1950's. The stained notebook contains meticulous notes kept by Ron as a boy chronicling his fishing spots around Montauk, both fresh and salt water.
Young Ron had a coding abbreviation system for his spots, "F.P." was Fort Pond, "N.B. was North Bar.

A Life on and in the water
These vintage photos of Ron spearfishing in Montauk back in the 50s and 60s show how Ron developed his knowledge of the species he drew for EastEnder. An authentic Montauk life led to an authentic Montauk art brand.
